In fact, it is very simple. The model specification can be divided into three parts: series code (in English uppercase code) + pipe outer diameter (in two-digit code) + connector thread (in two-digit or thread direct code).

Example: What do the "10" and "02" in the pneumatic connector model PC10-02 mean?

PC——The English letters in this position represent the code of the pneumatic joint, and commonly used ones include PCH, PCF, PL, PLF, PB, PD, PX, SL, PH, etc.

10——The number at this position represents the outer diameter of the trachea, in mm, here is the trachea with an outer diameter of 10.

02——The number in this position represents the diameter of the thread size, here it is 2 points, or 1/4 inch. 1 point equals 1/8 inch, 2 points equals 2/8 = 1/4 inch, 3 points equals 3/8 inch, and so on. (1 inch=25.4mm)


What are the common connection threads of pneumatic joints?

R thread: It is a 55° inch sealing pipe thread, which has airtightness after tightening. The tops and bottoms are arc-shaped. The taper of the taper thread is 1:16.

G thread: It is a 55° British non-sealed pipe thread. The internal and external threads are cylindrical pipe threads. After matching, they are not sealed. They only serve as a connection in the pipeline. With the help of the sealing ring, they can be used for low-pressure pipelines under static load. The tops and bottoms are arc-shaped.

Remarks: The unit of measurement for the pitch of an inch thread is inches, and the thread pitch is generally expressed by the number of threads per inch of length. British thread is commonly known as fine thread.

NPT thread: It is a 60° American sealed tapered pipe thread.

Remarks: The unit of measure for the pitch of American threads is also inches, and the number of threads per inch of length is generally used to represent the pitch.


Connection form of pneumatic joint:

Type ①: one end is connected to the thread, and the other is connected to the air pipe (thread to pipe) such as: pneumatic quick connect joint, straight pneumatic joint

Type ②: Both ends may be connected to air pipe (tube to tube), and both ends may be connected to thread (thread to thread) or multiple distribution. Such as: such as: T-shaped pneumatic joints, Y-shaped pneumatic joints, multi-way pneumatic joints

The joint form of the pneumatic pipe joint:

Plug-in pipe joints: mainly suitable for nylon pipes and plastic pipes. Pay attention to the outer diameter of the pipe when purchasing.

Ferrule-type pipe joints: mainly suitable for non-ferrous metal pipes and hard nylon pipes. Pay attention to the inner diameter of the pipe when purchasing.

Clamp type pipe joint: mainly suitable for braided rubber hose with upper thread. Pay attention to the inner diameter of the pipe when purchasing.

Commonly used materials are metal pipes and non-metal pipes:

Metal pipes: galvanized pipes, stainless steel pipes, drawn aluminum pipes, and pure copper pipes, among which copper pipes, stainless steel pipes, and aluminum pipes are all anti-rust. These are suitable for high temperature, high pressure, and fixed parts, mainly used in factory main roads and large-scale on the pneumatic device.

Non-metallic tubes: hard nylon tubes, soft nylon tubes, polyurethane tubes, etc. Non-metallic tubes are light, easy to assemble and disassemble, easy to cut, have low frictional resistance, and do not rust, but they are not suitable for high temperature use and must be protected from external damage. Nylon tubes are flexible, but cannot be bent and transitioned, and polyurethane tubes are even more flexible.

Among them, the air hose is soft and flexible, and the air hose can be used together with the compressor to provide power for sanders, wrenches, air nail guns and other pneumatic tools in workshops and auto repair shops to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the tools. Air hoses can also be used with compressed gas cylinders for inflation, welding, flame firing, oxygen management and more. Air hoses can be seen in aerospace, chemical testing, food industry, mechanical engineering, etc.

In terms of shape, helical tubing is more flexible than straight tubing because it can expand or contract as needed. This tubing can be used in a variety of applications including instrumentation lines, robotics and air tools. You can choose whether to bring your own connector according to your needs.
